Just as layers of papier-mâché strengthen the fragile form, so working on films and oneself shapes the director. The film is dedicated to the attentive teacher and outstanding puppeteer Oleh Pedan who passed away in 2020. His voice was secretly recorded by the director during their last meeting. This very record formed the basis of the film. <img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/eventive-static/dc20b4354a8f094bb2a6ca1d9d7e2b8d.png"> Director's Bio: Anastasiia Falileieva Director, stop-motion animator, VJ artist.She has learned stop-motion animation from the famous Ukrainian puppet master Oleh Pedan, while attending his course at Kyiv University of Cinema and Broadcasting (2016-2020). Since 2018 she has been collaborating with the band Pianoboy as a VJ artist and animator. In 2019, she released her debut short animated film "Until It Turns Black". The film enjoyed success at film festivals all around the world (REX, Monstra, Odessa IFF, Linoleum, Animax Skopje, and others). It won 4 Awards and two Special Jury Mentions. "Until It Turns Black" was nominated for the “Kinokolo: the Ukrainian Film Critics' Award" as the Best Animated Short of 2019. In 2020, the short animated film project in collaboration with the studio KAPI, "Tiger is Strolling Around" won the pitching of the Ukrainian State Film Agency and received financial support from the institution.In 2021, the film "Tiger is Strolling Around" was selected for the Short Shorts Film Festival &amp; Asia, LA Shorts International Film Festival, Montevideo World Film Festival, Odessa International Film Festival, LINOLEUM Animation Festival, Golden Short Film Festival so far.

THE TIP is based on a true story about a quintessential entrepreneurial immigrant, who navigates the journey to his dream of success by paying the goodwill forward, listening to the little voice inside, and manifesting the success he dreams of for himself and all those around him. The film portrays the earliest days of a now legendary LA restaurant which had humble origins and never lost touch with its humanity. <img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/eventive-static/628db742102715ebffdba0519ce524b0.png"> Director's Bio: Katerina Tana studied English and French Lit. at University of York in England where she acted and directed several plays, and later trained as an actor in London. She debuted the role of Arlie in Getting Out in the UK premiere of the play. In London she worked as photographic editor on legendary director Fred Zinnemann's autobiography.She has worked in feature film development, production and design in California over the past 25 years. She wrote this short based on a story heard many times growing up. This is the first film she has written and directed.
