When an unsuspected visitor enters the forest, the hunter confronts his own prejudice and long-harbored resentment. <img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/eventive-static/dd32b767588e086f6a37396b0183fb5c.png"> Director's Bio: Anton Martin Emeršič (1995) graduated from the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television (AGRFT) in Ljubljana in 2017 with his short film Shoemaker. During his studies he spent some time in New York City where he participated in an avant-garde film production by Richard Foreman as a performer. He’s currently preparing another short film to finish his Master’s degree in Film Directing at AGRFT next year. In addition to directing he also has experience in screenwriting and production and has lately also grown interested in photography and production design.

TEMPEST

Two best friends spend an afternoon on a football field, dreaming of making it onto the local team. But dreams come with a price; when a group of older boys interrupt their game, one of them sees it as an opportunity to prove himself, while the other one senses something more sinister is at play. <img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/eventive-static/a565eabe67738f536b1f5e4d9f3f2c29.png"> Director's Bio: Rok Biček(1985) is a Slovene film director. His short Duck Hunting (2010) was acquired by ARTE. Class Enemy (2013), his feature debut, was premiered and awarded at Venice Critics’ Week and distributed in France by PanameDistribution. His feature documentary The Family (2017) was premiered and awarded in Locarno Critics’ Week. His works reveal a rare self-confidence, backed up by clear esthetic favoring one-shot sequences, specific color schemes, and dramatic subjects narrated in an almost low-key, off-hand, but always controlled style.

Ski school instructor Nika tries to hide a fatal accident that happened on the slopes. But when night comes, it turns out that the girl number 26 is missing. Nika will confess the accident to his girlfriend Nata, and together they will share the responsibility of this dreadful secret. <img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/eventive-static/012e9912022b8c9167e55ca7b607fcf2.png"> Director's Bio: Gvantsa Meparishvili is Georgian film and TV director. She graduated in cinema criticism and film directing at Theatre and Film University, and worked as TV journalist, producer and host. Gvantsa directed live broadcasts of concerts and music videos, and for more than 10 years worked at Georgian Public Broadcasting directing social and medical programmes. She also used to do voice over for animation. In 2017 Gvantsa took an enthusiastic interest in Films D’auteur. After attending Mamalia’s film laboratory sessions of cinema drama, she started her career as an independent script writer and film director. Number 26 is Gvantsa’s debut as writer, producer and director.&nbsp;

NUMBER 26

“Prokop”, the central train station in Belgrade, Serbia, is seen as a living architectural organism which shows traces of the past. However, it was never completed. The station itself was never just a train station, but the consequence of a series of human interventions. <img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/eventive-static/12128b0c8f6c6323ae487d3115917765.png"> Director's Bio: Danilo Stanimirović, born in 1998 in Požarevac, Serbia. He made his first encounter with film at the Free Zone Filmmaker School and film school Square; And as a workshop participant, jury member and volunteer at almost all festivals in Serbia.&nbsp; In 2017, at the DokuFest workshop in Prizren, he made his first award-winning documentary “Migrations”. In the same year he enrolled at the Faculty of Media and Communications in Belgrade.&nbsp; In 2018, he won the European Film Contest and the European Film Challenge, which takes him to the Cannes and Venice Film Festivals. Next year, his fiction film “Bambiland” was premiered in famous Anthology Film Archives cinema in NewYork, and later it was shown at over 70 festivals around the world and won numerous awards.&nbsp;He worked on the film Celts by Milica Tomović as the second AD, and on many TV series and short films as first AD and production manager. So far, he has directed 4 documentaries (Barili, Migrations, Prokop, Niemerland) and 4 fiction short films (Red, Eviction, Bambiland, Two on Two).&nbsp;

PROKOP

Saša and Filip are traveling to Gorski Kotar, Croatia. Isolated in the midst of the global pandemic, Saša starts to question their relationship. As her resistance towards Filip grows, her courage to say it crumbles. <img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/eventive-static/37ff46801648e4c9e3d5c31a8931d71b.png"> Director's Bio: Sara Grgurić was born in 1998 in Rijeka, Croatia. In 2020, she got her BA in Film and television directing from the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb, and enrolled in the MA in Feature film directing. In The Woods is her undergraduate final film that won the NEST Award for Best Student Short Film at the San Sebastián International Film Festival.
