Amphilochios: Saint of Patmos explores the life and spiritual legacy of a beloved twentieth-century saint from the Greek island of Patmos. Filmed over the course of the first celebration of his April feast day in 2019, locals, and pilgrims to the island, share their stories of the saint. St. Amphilochios (1889-1970) was a tireless spiritual father, missionary, and founder of orphanages and monasteries. In Greek with English subtitles.

Amphilochios: Saint of Patmos

The film follows the first systematic underwater archaeological survey around Kasos Island. Kasos has a remarkable maritime activity, from Homeric time to the previous century. Maritime archaeologist Xanthi Argyris, leads a team of archaeologists, scientists and technicians. They are diving in search of ancient wrecks. They are completing the fourth year of maritime archaeological survey in the area. After scanning 60 km of shoreline, they have discovered ten shipwrecks. Covering all periods from ancient times to the present. After 220 dives and 320 hours underwater, 108 selected archaeological finds were recovered. Studying shipwreck locations and all these items add tiles in the large mosaic of the Aegean Sea's underwater archaeological map.

The Fotinos family vineyard in Napa Valley, CA has been making wine for over 50 years. Certain challenges such as the wildfires in 2017 and 2020 presented a serious threat to businesses in the region such as this one. This film follows Margaret Fotinos Morearty and vineyard manager Jesus Romero Jr. as they reflect on the history of the property and what grape-growing means to them.

Discover the hands-only drifting! Panayiotis Grigoriou is the only active paraplegic Drift driver and SL 2018 Champion of Greece. This short documentary gives us the opportunity to get a brief glimpse of his racing career and the struggles he is forced to overcome daily. Panayiotis Grigoriou (Spinnerakos) was born in Chalkida and lived an ordinary life. At the age of 9, he found a lipoma in the waist, and after the second operation, he was left disabled at the age of 13. At 33, he found a way with the Greek federation to create the procedures so a disabled person could get a racing driving license and compete with non-disabled drivers. His dream comes true, and he participates in the Greek Drift championship. In 2018, he was crowned Greek Drift champion in the Street Legal category.

Spinnerakos a.k.a. Panayiotis Grigoriou

In the 1980s, as caravan tourism gained popularity, hundreds of Cypriot holidaymakers chose to permanently station their caravans along the state-owned coastal areas of the island.  Settled on a beach called Spiros on the Mediterranean coast, this tight-knit group, consisting mostly of pensioners, transformed a seaside plot into an improvised beach 'resort,' despite lacking official permission to stay in the area.  The film observes inner moments of how summer unfolds into Cyprus's last remaining improvised caravan park.

"The Rental Around the Corner" is a story of the last VHS rental Club of the chain Video Land. That was a small family business blooming in the 80's. The last owner, Eleni Boneli, worked there for almost 34 years, since she was a 12 year old girl. This is the last day before the end of this era, when also, the whole block was under construction.

There is public silence about the issue of Jewish properties in Greece. The documentary looks into why this cycle of silence needs to be broken, and how this could be done without turning the process into a people’s court. It also seeks the views of public opinion through a survey conducted in collaboration with the University of Macedonia.

"Αποδοχή – Acceptance” is a poignant documentary short film that tells the story of a man whose life is severely disrupted by a car crash and an unjust legal outcome. Unable to work or walk, hurt both physically and emotionally, he turns away from society, quits his day job and becomes an animal breeder, a shepherd, seeking solace and meaning in his newfound connection with animals. The film explores his journey towards forgiveness and resilience, challenging conventional notions of fulfilment and inviting viewers to reflect on their own perceptions. " Αποδοχή - Acceptance" is a compelling exploration of the human spirit's capacity to find peace in unexpected places and love unconditionally.
