Peter Darney is a queer artist working across film, TV and theatre. Recently he directed TETH which was selected for BFI Flare, Frameline 49, Pune International Queer Film Festival and Roze Filmdagen after premiering at Iris Film Festival. His short film G FLAT starring Richard Wilson has been seen at festivals around the world, won ‘Best Short Film’ at Dinard Film Festival and was nominated for Best of British and the Iris Prize at Iris Film Festival and can be viewed on All4/Film4. Recently, he was 2nd unit director on LOST BOYS & FAIRIES (BBC) and on feature film THE RADLEYS (Sky). He has directed a TV pilot DEATH TO PONTY for Blackbox Media and his Micro-Doc INTIMACY LOCKED DOWN was selected for preservation by the BFI National Archive. As a writer, he has co-written the feature film DRAGGED TO CHURCH (Fulwell73) with Eve Myles (currently in pre-production) and is currently in development for 2 further features, ‘The Only Gay Pornstar in Upper Cwmtwrch’ and ‘Clapham Trashbag’ based on his play 5 Guys Chillin’. In theatre, he wrote and directed the multiple award winning 5 GUYS CHILLIN’ which was named one of ‘Ten Plays that Shaped Queer Theatre History’ in the Evening Standard. It had a critically acclaimed Off-Broadway Transfer to SoHo where reviewers called Peter ‘The Larry Kramer of his generation’.
