Samara Pérez Santiago is a Puerto Rican screenwriter, director, and creative producer. Their work spans fiction and documentary, grounded in authentic storytelling. They co-founded Filmes Casa, where they lead development and production of independent films.
As a producer, they recently premiered the feature documentary “Nació Simón” at the 2026 PR Queer Film Festival, where it received the Audience Award. Other produced projects have also screened at Tribeca, AFI Fest, LALIFF, Outfest, Inside Out, and DOCS MX.
As a director, their work has screened at LALIFF and won awards at LUSCA, NewFest, and the Puerto Rico Queer Film Festival.
