The goal of this talk is to review the science behind Deep Learning and provide greater insight into how it works, how Deep Learning is currently being used in the VFX and media industries, as well as discussing specific models like Foundry's CopyCat node, deepfake models like DeepFaceLab, and NVidia's famous StyleGAN model.

Sirak currently works as an R&D Engineer for Industrial Light and Magic's Image Capture Team, and recently completed a Masters from UC Berkeley in Information and Data Science. Prior to that Sirak got his first taste for applied Deep Learning in the VFX industry while CTO of Blue Fairy, and has worked in both the games and VFX industries for 16 years as a software developer.
