Born and raised in China, she lived and studied in 5 continents to explore her passion and creativity. During the process, she directed and produced a number of documentary shorts in Virginia, Athens, Hong Kong, Tibet and Shanghai.With the diverse cultural background, Eris is drawn to tell stories of global cultural heritage and diaspora, and especially the pan-Asian experience. Her documentary work was rated the first in non-scripted category on prime time national TV, and she was also featured TEDx as an opinion leader. Having decided to focus on fictional films, she is now pursuing MBA/MFA dual degrees at NYU’s prestigious schools of Stern and Tisch.Prior to filmmaking, Eris&nbsp;graduated from University of Virginia&nbsp;with a degree in Media Studies, and spent one year at the Smithsonian Natural History&nbsp;Museum as a video producer.

Mother Tongue

Awaken is a short film about RAKHI SINGH, who has recently put her mom, UMA SINGH, into a “care center” after exploring other options for her Alzheimers Disease. Rakhi’s mom isn’t taking well to it, and still has long spells of crying, and bouts of confusion. Rakhi brings her mom home in hopes of comforting her, helping her reset, and to find her way, only to learn that it’s not only unhelpful, but also breaking her family apart. Rakhi is at a loss as to what to do, but when her mother disappears, she finds herself lost in a moment from the past, paving the way for a solution. It’s not an easy one, but it’s something. Directors Biography - Leena Pendharkar<img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/eventive-static/09acaa165f33cbb1726363f76ce11364.jpg" width="190">Leena Pendharkar is an award-winning writer and director. She premiered her sophomore feature film, 20 Weeks, at the Los Angeles Film Festival It was selected as one of the best indie films of 2017 by Film Threat, and was described as an “intimate, compassionate take on abortion” by the Los Angeles Times. It was released theatrically in 10 cities in April of 2018 and on Hulu, and a number of other platforms.

Grandpa's Long March is a heartwarming road trip story about aChinese veteran suffering from Alzheimer's, his journey to reunite with his grandson who goes to college in Los Angeles, with the help from some people he might just have a chance to celebrate the Spring Festival together. He is currently in his last semester at Loyola Marymount University. He has worked on dozens of projects since his freshman year as grip, production assistant, and assistant director. He is also a member of Delta Kappa Alpha, a national gender-inclusive cinematic professional fraternity. During his summers in China, he interned at Enlight Pictures and Mowei Pictures and worked as 2nd assistant director on Lou Ye's film The Shadow Play (Feng Zhong You Duo Yu Zuo De Yun). His last project HAND-DRAWN is an "Official Selection" of Pasadena International Film Festival and North Hollywood Cinefest. Bolun also has created shorts, vlogs, and mashups for his own Youtube channel.

She moved to the US in 2017 for graduate school in San Diego. Her own culture background and the impacts from the brand new environment become her inspirations and influence her film works later on.
