Director Biography - Debbie Saefong

I’m a recent graduate from UC Riverside with a major in Theatre, Film and Digital production with a concentration in Filmmaking. As a first-generation college student with immigrant parents, I was a minority in the low-income community I grew up in. As I grew older, I realized that representation is imperative and I was inspired to major in Film because of the lack of Asian-American representation in the entertainment industry. My love for film blossomed during high school, where I made short video projects for my classes as well as recreational short films outside of school. I found a lot of joy in being able to share these projects with people and it soon became a passion. I look forward to more opportunities to delve deeper in the film industry and gain more knowledge in something I am passionate about.
