I'm a Filipino/American, New York based filmmaker. I've been making films for the last 20 years. My previous one "The Pleasure of Being Served" has screened in 24 film festivals including the 40th Asian American International Film Festival in NYC and the inaugural of Cinematografo in San Francisco, CA.
Director Statement
I want to introduce Filipino-chic to mainstream cinema. I want to tell mainstream stories with Filipino "flavor" to them.
I like mainstream, Hollywood movies with an edge. My goal is to make movies that are thought provoking, daring, and experimental that can also reach a wide audience. Movies such as ‘Carnal Knowledge,’ ‘Pulp Fiction,’ ‘Annie Hall,’ and ‘Last Tango in Paris’ are, to me, just a few examples of this formula.”
