While at school she got the opportunity to produce and create many films. Her short film, Slurp, in 2019, was selected by five film festivals and was Second Place for Audience Choice at Reel Youth Film Festival. She enjoys keeping her hands busy by felting, doing pottery, gardening, and eating popcorn in the movie theater. In the future, she hopes to continue making films with friends and enjoy the little things in life.

Do Unto Others

A new mother struggles with the Chinese practice of "sitting the month" in the wake of her own mother's death. The film is a carefully considered story about the emotional and cultural complexities of postpartum motherhood, particularly&nbsp;in the absence of one’s own mother. Through Iris, we pivot between cultural experiences and attitudes; a Western&nbsp;perspective lauds new mothers for “bouncing back” while a Chinese belief system encourages rest and recuperation, and it’s&nbsp;between these two cultural points of view that Iris is torn. Biographies: Director and Producer- Felicity LuHill <img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/eventive-static/0195aef5177a8093d0fc3da3659ef772.jpg" width="119"> Felicity LuHill&nbsp;is an Asian American writer and filmmaker from the San Francisco Bay Area. She holds a Bachelor's Degree&nbsp;from NYU, a Screenwriting Certificate from The New School, and is a recent graduate of the Peter Stark Producing Program at&nbsp;USC. Her writing has been published in BROOKLYN Magazine, LIT Magazine, and others. Her rom-com feature-length&nbsp;screenplay, LOSING IT, was a finalist for The New School's annual V.O. Awards. Felicity is a proud mom, and currently has&nbsp;essays forthcoming at Huffington Post about her experience using Hypnobirthing in natural, unmedicated childbirth, as well&nbsp;as her experience with trying (and failing) to partake in the Chinese traditions of postpartum confinement. Writer and Producer- Rebecca Chu <img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/eventive-static/ec0d0a96a8ed95a4c0c5769ee69c6d81.jpg" width="124"> Rebecca Chu&nbsp;is a writer and filmmaker from Irvine, California. Upon becoming a mother, Rebecca turned her career focus toward&nbsp;building a more equitable world for the next generation, launching independent film company SHADOWLIGHT MEDIA&nbsp;VENTURES, through which she develops and produces original content that aims to elevate diverse, underrepresented voices.&nbsp;Rebecca's short film ROJAK garnered accolades at the Singapore Bicentennial Heritage showcase, including nods for Best Film&nbsp;and Best Direction. In addition, her original screenplay WONTON PARADISE was selected by industry professionals to be filmed&nbsp;at the Universal Studios backlot in Hollywood. Rebecca is a globe-trotter with artistic interests that span international sensibilities.&nbsp;She holds an MBA from Stanford, and an MFA from the Peter Stark Producing Program at USC's School of Cinematic Arts.

If Only is a short film following the afterlife of a whale. The purpose of the film is to talk about whaling and how whales are mindlessly murdered year after year for food. The film based on her experiences playing high school basketball premiered on Vimeo's Short of the Week and took home 18 awards including Palm Springs International ShortFest (Young Cineastes Award), Bentonville Film Festival (Best Short Film), and the Oscar-qualifying award at Cinequest (Best Dramatic Short).Recently, Erica's latest film "Off Fairfax" had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. She also became one out of six directors hand-selected for Disney’s Launchpad Shorts Incubator program where she will be mentored by executives from Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm as she directs a coming-of-age ghost story for Disney+.Inspired by her Oakland roots, Erica creates work that reflects the diverse community in which she grew up. Her combined background in cinematography and dance influences the rhythm and energy behind her emotional storytelling.

Americanized

Can one good samaritan prevent anti-AAPI violence? No– but the COLLECTIVE STRENGTH of the Chinatown community can.Son of Paper (SOP) enjoys a peaceful meal in the hustle and bustle of San Francisco Chinatown. Suddenly, the warm atmosphere is broken by a trio of goons who steal a family heirloom from the restaurant. Adrenaline pumping, SOP uses his amateur martial arts skills to confront the thieves, with Chinatown behind him. This conflict emphasizes the strength of the AAPI community to take a stand against violence and uplift each other in the face of hate. MR. CHINATOWN started as a rap song but has turned into a community lead movement to Stop Anti-Asian hate crimes and rhetoric. Surprisingly and unsurprisingly, many of these crimes have happened in San Francisco, the home of many Asian elderly people. By taking a stand through MR. CHINATOWN VIDEO, we can begin to change the online discourse in film and music. He’s had a camera in his hand since he was in high school. After gaining experience in photography, he decided to transition into filmmaking because he saw the opportunity to uplift underrepresented communities by creating diverse content. He hopes to use his skills to amplify historically excluded stories to make a social impact in the film industry.
