57-year old Anu lost her husband, now her home. Her distant son has ushered her over oceans to New Zealand, so she can leave her grief behind and start life anew.

But Anu isn't looking for a fresh start. She is more concerned with a mourning ritual that must happen on the anniversary of her widowing, it being her only way to connect with who she lost.

Despite the apathy of her son and ridicule of the world, she resolves to accomplish the ritual using only what she has available in her bare-bones hotel room. But the silence of this room will force her to confront his departure, and look towards the light.
