Three short films by Jaemi Lee, Jae Lew, Caroline So Jung Lee, Alice Il Shin, followed by Joseph Juhn's feature documentary, Jeronimo: The Untold Tale of Koreans in Cuba, and a live filmmaker Q&A.

A Chinese-Canadian man accompanies his Cantonese-speaking grandfather-in-law to pay respects at a loved one’s grave in Markham, Ontario. They struggle to connect with each other - while overcoming the language barrier is awkward, closing the intergenerational gap in cultural knowledge seems downright insurmountable. The young man finds himself removed from traditional practices. When he suddenly finds himself in a crisis, it curiously leads to a shared moment of commonality with the elderly man. Toronto-based filmmaker Alice Shin highlights still moments of unspoken communication as the site of understanding.
