About the Artists
Katrina McPherson is an award-winning director and screendance artist whose creative, scholarly and educational works is at the forefront of the international field. Her forward-looking, body-based screen practice has resulted in many films, installations and on-line works. These have been written about extensively, won awards and presented at numerous venues and festivals worldwide. Katrina’s recent dance film Paysages Mixtes/Mixed Landscapes, which she made with Quebec choreographer Harold Rheaume, had its US premiere at Dance Camera West in January 2019, when Katrina also received a Career Achievement Award from the Festival. www.katrinamcpherson.com; www.makingvideodance.com
Rob Heaslip is an Irish choreographer based in Scotland UK. He is also a dancer, movement director and teacher creating his own ensemble work, as well as collaborative works. As an artist he is interested in how he can re-imagine human rituals for the viewer of today; asking how can the performing body be a vessel for intertwining dance, voice and design? https://www.robheaslip.com
