Those People tells the story of Amanda and Andrew, a middle class (overly) educated couple who, after years of living together, find out they are pregnant. Amanda is decidedly ambivalent about having a child, worried about what kind of world they’d be bringing a kid into. It doesn’t help that she has a habit of doom scrolling on social media and absorbing all of the world’s most harrowing new’s stories in real time. A film that shows the very real conundrum of the modern day human experience: one that vacillates between hope and hopelessness.
