Using footage filmed as part of a video to send blessing for her mother’s wedding, THE BLESSING captures the director’s struggles in verbalizing and confronting the fact that her father is really gone; her mother has moved on in life; while Ziyao, trapped in the U.S. during the pandemic and facing a heavy workload from online classes, struggles to make a video to send her blessings on short notice.
