More Than I Deserve tells the bitter-sweet story of 12 year-old Pinchas (extraordinary newcomer Micha Prudovsky) and his mother Tamara (Ana Dubrovitzki) who are new immigrants to Israel from Russia. Pinchas spends most of his time alone, while Tamara works hard to put food on the table. When Pinchas learns that his classmates are preparing for their Bar Mitzvah ceremonies, he asks his religious neighbor, Shimon Amazaleg (Yaakov Zada Daniel of the hit series Fauda) for his help in preparing for his Bar Mitzvah. Shimon, who still lives with his parents, is a bachelor, waiting to meet the right girl. The two form a strong bond, and Shimon treats Pinchas as he would be his own son. Despite her initial disapproval of his religious influence, Tamara gradually falls in love with Shimon and the three begin to form an unlikely family. Things get complicated, however, when Tamara wants Shimon to make a commitment to her while his Rabbi pressures him to marry a woman from his Orthodox community. 

Pinchas initially blames his mother for Shimon's departure, but comes to learn that no ceremony truly prepares you for being an adult.
