Inspired by the story of John Colter, who pioneered much of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem with a set of snowshoes, a rifle, and thirty pound pack, discovering ranges and natural phenomena, Sawyer Thomas and Riis Wilbrecht attempted the same route with their own unique perspective and style of adventure. With backgrounds in freestyle and endurance skiing, Thomas and Wilbrecht explore their mental and physical limits while exploring new terrain. Over the winters of 2018 and 2019 Sawyer and Riis accompanied by friends skinned to these remote ranges to ski rarely frequented peaks and show that there are still great adventures right out our backdoors.
