About the Film: 8-year-old Malak narrates her family arduous journey of romance, endless love, sacrifice and reunification with her father, in the U.S, after 7-year of forced separation. Angel of Gaza is a close-up portrait of a Palestinian child from Gaza and how they see the world around them.
About the Filmmaker: Ahmed Mansour is an award-winning filmmaker from Gaza, Palestine. He did his masters in News and Documentary at New York University (NYU). Before moving to the US in 2015, he made a series of short films highlighting the humanitarian crisis in Gaza Strip after three successive wars. Ahmed's debut was his feature film Brooklyn Inshallah, which had its world premiere at the 2019 Mountainfilm Festival and NYC premiere at DOC NYC. The film is currently being broadcasted nationally on World Channel and PBS. Ahmed has received residencies and fellowships from Duke University and Washington Center for Narrative Studies. He was named the 2019 Mountain Film Emerging Filmmaker Fellow, based in Telluride, Colorado.
