About the Film: A father reflects on his strict upbringing in early 1960’s Puerto Rico, as Hi8 videos - filmed by his son - reveal his son's fascination with violence during his carefree, playful youth.


About the Filmmaker: José Fernando Rodriguez was born and raised in Puerto Rico. In the past six years he has made two short films: the documentary short Adolescencia (2017 - Guanajuato International Film Festival, Camden International Film Festival, New Orleans Film Festival, Nitehawk Shorts Festival, DOK Leipzig), and the experimental short Mama,Mama (2018 Bushwick Film Festival, 2018 Nitehawk Shorts Festival, 2019 Guanajuato International Film Festival). He was formerly a senior staffer at Tribeca Film Institute, where he oversaw the growth, funding and overall strategic vision for all their documentary programs, as well as their filmmaker/industry market. He is currently a Feature Film Programmer at the Tribeca Festival.
