ABOUT THE FILM: After a motorcycle accident shatters her world, Linda Neu finds a wellspring of strength in her deep and abiding love of horses. Medical teams are able to save her life, but not her leg – and Linda must navigate an untrodden path as she relearns to walk and finds new footing with the support of family, friends, and a high-tech prosthetic. Through it all, one goal sustains her: the pure joy of getting back on a horse. It's a different kind of ride – one of survival, new beginnings, and never giving up. ABOUT THE FILMMAKER: Tracy Christian, a documentary filmmaker, launched her career with Street Journeys-which follows children who make a transformative leap from Nairobi's streets to the stage at a performing arts orphanage-was described by Rolling Stone's Peter Travers as “An exhilarating documentary that speaks to the nurturing power of art…prepare to be wowed.”&nbsp;It aired on the Documentary Channel. Tracy’s latest, The Ride, follows Linda, whose love of horses helps her heal after a tragic accident. With the patience of a Buddhist monk, the humor of a teenage boy, and an unwavering will to create art, Brian cannot be stopped, not even by a brain injury. ABOUT THE FILMMAKER: Julia Barrett-Mitchell is an actor and filmmaker born and raised in New York City. She has directed 18 music videos, has appeared on Network television, and starred in multiple independent feature films such as Behind Some Dark Cloud and a romance novel adaptation trilogy for PassionFlix. Since moving to Beacon she has made a satirical pilot about city transplants reinventing their lives in the greener pastures of the Hudson Valley as well as the short film 45 Degrees about her friend and local collaborator, Brian Nice.

ABOUT THE FILMMAKER: Angel Gates was born and raised in the South Bronx before moving to the Hudson Valley in 2016. His career started in the music industry, but he later embarked on a new path to deepen his love for film, which has led to becoming Co-Founder of HUDSY. Growing up in NYC, Angel experienced the rich culture that exists within the boroughs' unique melting pot, allowing him to work seamlessly with individuals of all backgrounds. He is a passionate, award-winning filmmaker and content creator with expertise in a full range of media services from shooting, and producing, to editing and directing.

But after picking up the hitchhiker, his worst nightmare becomes a reality. When the hitchhiker holds him at knifepoint, Jimmy manages to fend him off, but his nightmare is far from over. ABOUT THE FILMMAKER: Christopher Greffrath is an independent filmmaker from the Hudson Valley and a a full-time content editor at HUDSY. Christopher specializes in all aspects of film, including writing, directing, editing and scoring. After receiving his first award for best film, A Good Deed, at the Hudson Valley Film Festival, Christopher continues to improve and achieve his goals of making high quality films, working tirelessly to ready himself for bigger projects in the future.&nbsp;

ABOUT THE FILM: Chris Pawelski has almost run out of time. As a fourth-generation onion farmer on the post-glacial black dirt of Goshen, New York, he is just one of millions of farmers in America facing the unnecessarily Sisyphean task of earning a living. Muckville follows the story of Chris’s family farm from the early 20th-century ‘Polish wave’ through climate change-driven crop failures in the 1990s and subsequent pitfalls of U.S. agriculture policy to his own resulting existential crisis. This short documentary provides rare insight into the impact of our national mental health epidemic on American farming and paints a delicate and emotional portrait of resilience and love amid unbeatable odds. ABOUT THE FILMMAKER: Jeff Mertz is a multimedia filmmaker with an insatiable appetite for storytelling. For commercial and creative projects alike, he aims to evoke and explore the junction of physical and emotional landscapes, and is increasingly interested in creating works that foster understanding around how large-scale paradigms exist and persist at human scale. When he is not making images, Jeff is an avid hiker, gamer, and amateur chef.﻿
