ABOUT THE FILM: In this film, created through the Acting Gym’s rigorous summer film program for young professional and pre-professional artists, a young victim of abuse runs out of options and is alienated from her community. ABOUT THE FILMMAKER: Raia Morgan is a socially conscious, female student filmmaker. Inspired to tell stories that reflect contemporary issues and social dilemmas, Morgan zeroes in on interpersonal relationships. Her hope is that, through film, she will evoke a viewer’s empathy in order to promote awareness, understanding, and change. She will be attending NYU starting in the fall of 2023.&nbsp;

ABOUT THE FILM:For over 150 years, members of the Hudson River Ice Yacht Club have sailed the frozen river. However, due to changing climate conditions and the loss of longtime members, this thrilling and historic activity is in danger of being lost. ABOUT THE FILMMAKER: Nathan Burger, Mia Ferrara, Frances Gorres, and Kalighan Pelish are a group of high schoolers who created their first film during their junior year in the American Studies course at FDR High School in Hyde Park, NY.&nbsp;During their time spent interviewing, transcribing and editing, they discovered their mutual love for filmmaking. They would like to thank their teachers Betty Chasan, and Matthew Guarnaccia, and the members of the Hudson River Ice Yacht Club for their contributions and support in the making of this film.

ABOUT THE FILM: Outside a high-school party, a teenage girl talks with her best friend about potentially having sex with her girlfriend for the first time. The best friend is nervous about the idea, and when she discovers that the girl hasn’t yet told her girlfriend that she loves her, she insists that the girl profess her love for her girlfriend first for her to see. But when the girl and her best friend return to the party to do that, things don’t go as planned. ABOUT THE FILMMAKER: I am a rising 10th grader. It's Your Choice is the second film I have directed, and my first narrative film. In my films, I like to address real-world issues that are important to young people from the point-of-view of a young person. Film gives me the opportunity to tell stories that hopefully raise awareness about issues we face today. Thank you for watching and I hope you enjoy it.

ABOUT THE FILMMAKER: Nico Eagan is a young, accomplished artist across multiple disciplines including painting, digital art, and film from Roanoke. "Alphabet Soup" is a deeply personal reflection from Nico on the importance of family when struggling with mental health. Nico is looking forward to college and continuing to grow as an artist.James Lee has worked on multiple award-winning short films including, "How to Survive Your First Date" which screened at two Oscar-qualifying film festivals and won prizes around the world. "Alphabet Soup" is his first film as director. James will be attending Washington &amp; Lee University in the fall.

ABOUT THE FILMMAKER: Brogan Mccain is a seventeen year old from Ulster Park New York who is new to filmmaking. Brogan’s interest in film is in directing and screenwriting. What sparked Brogans interest in film is storytelling and the way you can make people feel. Elizabeth Kiluba is a sixteen year old from Hurley, New York. Elizabeth is interested in editing and cinematography. The reason Elizabeth got into film is because it can impact a whole group and inspire people.

ABOUT FILM: An aging barber (Carl Welden) and his teenage granddaughter (Riley Dobbins) bicker over the future of their family barbershop. Set in a Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory-like barbershop called Pugsley's SideShow, the two face off over the importance of patriarchy in running a business. ABOUT THE FILMMAKER: Jackson Cutrone is just beginning his career in film making. Last year he worked as a sound engineer, composer, and editor on a short documentary called Paperback, through the Woodstock Film Festival Youth Film Lab. This year he wrote, directed, and composed for his own short film called Split Ends, also through the Youth Film Lab. He is currently in High School so he is not a full time film maker. He plans to continue with writing and directing his upcoming projects such as a comedy series about ironically, a teenager who writes for a tv series.﻿

I started doing film in 2022 when I joined Marketing Video Production at Saugerties High. I won Best CVP 1 PSA, Best CVP 1 Short film, and CVP 1 MVP.
