ABOUT THE FILM: Lorenzo’s desire to explore his feminine side is a secret—and according to his religious family, secrets belong to the devil. He must choose whether to live a lie or come out to his loved ones by killing his secret—and the Devil himself. ABOUT THE FILMMAKER: Sofia Garza-Barba is a Latinx genre-bending writer and director. Her work is often described as fantastic, kitsch, and highly art driven. She’s directed music videos for musicians like Natalia Lafourcade, and worked with clients like Nickelodeon, CryptTV, Universal and Sony Music. Her films have been presented on festivals like SITGES, GIFF, Cinequest and Tribeca (Nespresso Talents). She’s a Ryan Murphy’s Half Initiative mentee, a Fellow Director of the DGA’s Commercial Directors Diversity Program and a chosen fellow director for HBO’s Tommorrow’s Filmmakers Today. She’s in development for her first feature and continues to write stories that blends genres and cultures.

ABOUT THE FILM: &nbsp;When Milla’s fiancé Evie suddenly leaves her, she must face the reality that her relationship is really over this time. Set in Los Angeles, this short film is an intimate portrait of queer grief following the sudden ending of a longtime on-again, off-again relationship between two women. Written and Directed by Elizabeth Baudouin. Starring Natalie Shirinian and co-starring Amanda Grace Jenkins. ABOUT THE FILMMAKER: Elizabeth Baudouin is a writer/producer/director. She is known for stories that capture the human experience through emotional depth, nuanced complexity, subtle humor, and cultural totems. Her writings are published in Vogue, HuffPost, BlackBook, and more. Elizabeth and her wife, Writer/Director/Producer/Actress, Natalie Shirinian, have produced multiple award-winning short films through their production company, Not All Films. They have been featured in The NY Times, Nowness, MovieMaker, InStyle, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, AnOther, and more. Elizabeth is an Emerson College graduate and studies with Joan Scheckel’s Filmmaking Labs Studios. Breakup Text is her first short film which she writes and directs.

ABOUT THE FILM: A married farmer travels to a gay campground in the Endless Mountains of Pennsylvania to find his long lost love -- and discovers the past isn't done with him yet. ABOUT THE FILMMAKER: Austin Bunn wrote the script for Kill Your Darlings (Sony Pictures Classics), which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival. His writing has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Pushcart Prize, Best American Science and Nature Writing, and elsewhere. He has written scripts eenplays for Fox, Lionsgate, Participant Media, and served as a mentor at the Screenwriters' Colony and Outfest Screenwriting Lab. His award-winning short films have screened nationally and internationally at Frameline, Cleveland, OutFest, InsideOut, Provincetown, Sidewalk, and elsewhere. He is a New York State Council on the Arts/NY State Foundation for the Arts Artist Fellow in Screenwriting 2022-23.

The three bond over family history, love, and an extremely chaotic home nurse. ABOUT THE FILMMAKER: Jude Hope Harris is an LA-based director, writer and producer. Her producing credits include Hulu's 69: The Saga of Danny Hernandez, The America: ReFramed documentary Kid Candidate, the IFC feature documentary BAD AXE, MTV’s 2014 reboot of Liquid Television and MTV’s music series $5 Cover, directed by Craig Brewer and Lynn Shelton.&nbsp;She has directed music videos for Capitol Records, Innovative Leisure Records, and Joyful Noise. Jude's short films include Gay Haircut (premiered at SXSW 2022) and I Am An Expert Haggler at Garage Sales (Vimeo staff pick).

ABOUT THE FILM: A father and mother are faced with the painful task of washing and shrouding their deceased transgender daughter. Shrouding is an Islamic religious practice that is deemed obligatory to carry out upon death. But when no one agrees to wash her and shame falls onto the family, how far is the father willing to go to make sure his "son" is washed? ABOUT THE FILMMAKER: Ahmad Alyaseer is a Jordanian director, producer and writer. He recently directed the Emmy Award nominated kids show (Ahlan Simsim - Sesame Workshop). His Sci-Fi experimental feature (When Time Becomes a Woman, 2012) was screened at various film festivals including Boston Sci-Fi Film Festival. Ahmad is developing his feature (To Him We Return) which received development support and has been selected at several labs and workshops.Additionally,Ahmad has more than nine years of experience directing and producing TV series for regional platforms including Shahid,VIU and MBC.

ABOUT THE FILM: This punk rock fairytale doubles as a portrait of Shoog McDaniel — a fat, queer, and disabled photographer working in and around northern Florida’s vast network of freshwater springs, the state’s source of precious drinking water. For over a decade, Shoog’s photographs have transformed the way fat people view themselves and how a fat phobic society views fat bodies. Bringing Shoog’s photography to life, the film immerses audiences in a world of fat beauty and liberation, one in which marginalized bodies — including bodies of water — are sacred. ABOUT THE FILMMAKER: Sasha Wortzel uses video, sculpture, installation, and sound to explore how this country’s past and present are inextricably linked through resonant spaces and their hauntings. Raised in South Florida and based in New York City, Wortzel specifically attends to sites and stories systematically erased or ignored from these regions’ histories. Wortzel’s film THIS IS AN ADDRESS (2020) is distributed by Field of Vision. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARSHA!
