ABOUT THE FILM:Alcohol conjures up stories and traditions, not to mention emotions – from the glamorization of Hollywood, the politics of prohibition, religious connotations, medicinal uses – to the good old cocktail. So where, why and how are we so fascinated with a liquid that’s steeped in folklore, that we worship it, ban it, love it and hate it. We have been creating alcohol since the dawn of civilization and as a result we’ve created a universe of myth, legend, culture and science on the subject. Through the lens of Moonshine, we take a look at what it is about alcohol that gets us so worked up or rather – shaken &amp; stirred. ABOUT THE FILMMAKER:Rob Harris studied at Stanford, interned with legendary documentary filmmaker Barbara Kopple, and then went on to get a Masters in Journalism at UC Berkeley. After associate producing a PBS Frontline, Rob spent five years as a staff video journalist for The New York Times, where he was part of teams that won two Pulitzers, one Emmy and a duPont Award. Since then, Rob has split his time between teaching, editing, producing and managing digital media teams. He is currently the education director at HUDSY, where he is responsible for HUDSY’s Apprentice and Launchpad Film Programs.

ABOUT THE FILM:In a society where able-bodied and neurotypical are the norms, The Adaptive Sports Foundation challenges this perception. This inspiring documentary follows Farryl, a 10-year-old with cerebral palsy, and Matt, a 33-year-old war veteran seeking purpose. Farryl is given the tools to conquer the ski slopes, while Matt finds a renewed reason to fight for life. Their journeys are filled with trepidation and determination as they strive for the independence that societal norms have withheld. Witness their roller coaster of emotions, from fear to triumph, as they defy all odds and achieve an invigorating sense of accomplishment. Angel Fonseca’s film showcases the power of adaptive sports to transform lives and redefine what it means to be truly capable. ABOUT THE FILMMAKER:Angel Fonseca is an award-winning filmmaker, and co-founder and executive director of production &amp; development at HUDSY. Born and raised in the South Bronx, Angel relocated to the Hudson Valley in 2016. Initially pursuing a career in music, his passion for film led him to master cinematography, producing, editing, and directing. His New York City upbringing provided him with a unique ability to collaborate with diverse individuals, enriching his filmmaking projects.

ABOUT THE FILM:Through decades of colonization, the ability to love and care for oneself has been lost among many indigenous peoples. After reconnecting with their ancestors, husband and wife Gustavo and Natalia were motivated to create a safe and nurturing environment for the practice and preservation of indigenous traditions and way of life. By building a new Indigenous Cultural Center, Munay Wasi, in Wawarsing, New York, originally Ramapo Lenape land bordering Mohawk territory, they are helping those who have been denying their culture to relearn how to love who they really are. ABOUT THE FILMMAKER:Angel Fonseca is an award-winning filmmaker, and co-founder and executive director of production &amp; development at HUDSY.
