ABOUT THE FILM:Based on true events, Superman Doesn't Steal is a coming-of-age story, set in Atlanta in the 70's during the Atlanta Child Murders and seen through the eyes of 8-year-old Harriet, who is as fascinated with superheroes as is her older brother Jackson. However, when they experience a troubling series of events that impact their family, leaving emotional scars and causing them both to grow up fast, they must redefine their definitions of heroes, villains, themselves – and yes – even Superman. ABOUT THE FILMMAKER:Tamika Lamison, a Virginia native, graduated from American University and Howard University. Honors include: ABC/Walt Disney Fellowship in Screenwriting, the CBS Director’s Initiative and AFI’s Directing Workshop for Women Fellowship. Tamika has produced/written/directed several award-winning shorts and features. She was a staff writer/producer on Monogamy. Tamika created the non-profit, Make A Film Foundation, which grants film wishes to children with serious or life-threatening medical conditions by teaming them with noted film industry who help them create short film legacies (www.makeafilmfoundation.org). Tamika is a Rideback Rise Fellowship circle member &amp; Finalist in Shondaland’s Director Mentoring Program. Her current film has won multiple awards.

ABOUT THE FILM:When bestselling Soviet-Jewish novelist Gary Shteyngart wrote about his botched circumcision, he sparked a viral debate about the age-old practice. In The Guy Who Got Cut Wrong, Shteyngart delves deeper into the trauma he suffered at age seven, shortly after his family’s arrival in America. On the surface, the film is about surgery gone wrong. But on a more profound level it’s about the immigrant experience, competing ideas of manliness, the limits of the redemptive power of fame, and coming to terms with betrayals by parents, religion, and country. Shteyngart invites us upstate on walks by the Hudson, where he spends hours dreaming up book ideas, and on his New York City adventures. Remarkably unvanquished by the ordeal he calls “shlong-gate,” Shteyngart's singular tragic-comic voice prevails. "This country broke my penis," he says in the film, "but it couldn't break my spirit." ABOUT THE FILMMAKER:Dana Ben-Ari is a NYC-based filmmaker who often explores themes of bodily autonomy and identity in her work, with the goal of rendering the invisible visible. Ben-Ari is the director of the feature documentary Breastmilk, which explores female bodies and the challenges of breastfeeding. She is the co-creator of the art exhibit "Please Touch: Body Boundaries." In The Guy Who Got Cut Wrong, Ben-Ari’s second film, she extends the conversation to include male bodies and vulnerabilities.

His films have shown at the Toronto International Film Festival, Woodstock Film Festival, and Newport Beach Film Festival, among others. He has worked as a script consultant on numerous projects and has taught filmmaking through the Bard Prison Initiative. He currently has several projects in development and teaches film at Vassar College. In his free time, he raises chickens.

ABOUT THE FILMMAKER:Born and raised in the heart of New York City, Aji Bass has cultivated a career in lighting for film and television, emerging as a New York and LA based director of photography, specializing in short-form narrative and documentary filmmaking. His portfolio includes titles such as Pray the Gay Away and Don't Fan the Flames, B*tch, as his much anticipated upcoming short film, Mad Cow is set for release. Currently collaborating with Oscar-winning Director Geeta Ghandbhir, Aji is shepherding his compelling directorial debut documentary titled Freshman. Again. through the festival circuit.

ABOUT THE FILMMAKER:Jazz Pitcairn is an award-winning writer, director, and producer from the Cayman Islands, best known for writing on HBO’s Emmy-winning series, A Black Lady Sketch Show (ABLSS). ​ At 17, Jazz was nominated for Best Local Filmmaker at the Cayman International Film Festival and continued her career at NYU Tisch. Thereafter, Jazz worked for several major studios like A24, HBO, and Apple TV+ before landing as a writer on ABLSS, making her the first Caymanian to write for an American network television show at just 23 years old.

ABOUT THE FILMMAKER:David Liu grew up in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains east of Los Angeles. He studied political economy at UC Berkeley and worked as a journalist before earning his MFA from the USC School of Cinematic Arts. He has developed content for Ron Howard and Brian Grazer’s Imagine Entertainment, and his television writing credits include the thriller series Taiwan Crime Stories (Disney+/Hulu, 2023). David is currently developing his debut narrative feature Santa Anita as a fellow of the Sundance Institute’s Feature Film Program, the SFFILM Rainin Grant, the IFP/Gotham Week Project Market, and the Woodstock Filmmaker Residency.

Her female-driven narratives explore the intricacies between humanity and nature, emphasizing environmentalism &amp; resilience of the human spirit. Faoro is developing several feature films in the body horror and science fiction genres.
