"Narrative and documentary student shorts that exemplify distinctive and genuine coming-of-age storytelling."

— Amanda Naseem, Shorts Programmer

runtime: 82 mins

Synopsis: ARTEMIS follows Hayes, a teenage LARP-er, who embarks on a fantastical adventure of gender discovery. Hayes and his friends don costumes, pick up foam weapons, and run into the woods as fantasy heroes—all as a part of a massive game of pretend played by everyone in the neighborhood. It’s his first day with his brother Sam’s adventuring party, and after a battle goes wrong, Hayes has to prove himself to the older kids he is so desperate to befriend.
