Synopsis: ARTEMIS follows Hayes, a teenage LARP-er, who embarks on a fantastical adventure of gender discovery. Hayes and his friends don costumes, pick up foam weapons, and run into the woods as fantasy heroes—all as a part of a massive game of pretend played by everyone in the neighborhood. It’s his first day with his brother Sam’s adventuring party, and after a battle goes wrong, Hayes has to prove himself to the older kids he is so desperate to befriend. Director's Bio: Jack Warren is a filmmaker from down the road Phoenicia, New York. Their short films have screened in New York and Los Angeles and their writing has appeared in Chronogram, Intercut Film Journal, the Wesleyan Argus, and the Woodstock Times. They’ve interviewed high-wire artist Phillipe Petit and co-directed a music video for Woodstock’s own Amanda Palmer. They are a recent alumnus of Wesleyan University.

A blue dress transforms a game of pretend into a journey of gender discovery.

Synopsis: Native American teen activist Daunnette Moniz-Reyome shares her family’s journey to retain the sacred rituals and values of their culture in the wake of centuries of loss from disease, war and government policies. Director's Bio: Daunnette Moniz-Reyome is a 17-year-old member of the Winnebago Ho-Chunk tribe of Nebraska and a senior at Walthill Public School, located on the Omaha Reservation where she lives. A model since age 11, she has appeared in Teen Vogue. She uses her platform to bring light to Native American issues. In 2017, she was a guest speaker at the United Nations International Day of the Girl event.

Synopsis: The film chronicles a night of violence and the 36 hours that follow in the city of Reading, Pennsylvania. Director's Bio: Jaclyn Noel is a writer and director who was born and raised in Pennsylvania. She holds a BA in Creative Writing from Franklin &amp; Marshall College and an MFA in Directing from Columbia University. She is currently developing her first feature.

The Other Side of Night

A night of violence in the city of Reading, Pennsylvania.

Synopsis: A Japanese trumpet player on a cultural pilgrimage to discover New York City jazz experiences one hell of a night after getting lost in Brooklyn. Director's Bio: Kevin Haefelin is a Swiss filmmaker based in New York. He graduated from the Geneva University of Art and Design (HEAD) with a BFA in film and is finishing an MFA in Directing at Columbia University. His latest short film, TRUMPET, has been shortlisted for the 2020 BAFTA Student Film Awards. Chosen as a script reader for the 2020 Sundance Institute's Screenwriters Lab, Haefelin is now writing his first feature film.

Synopsis: CUÍDATE follows Rita, a mother and an engineer, as she works from home late one night. While she works, the ominous sounds of the city outside of her window, plus a radio broadcasting the death of an innocent black child, fuels her fear over the well-being of her own son. Director's Bio: Christian Nuñez is a filmmaker based in the Bronx, whose productions are inspired by his personal experiences growing up as an Afro-Latino in the streets of New York City.

Synopsis: Two sisters realize that they need one another when one faces a pregnancy scare and the other's sexual identity is discovered. Director's Bio: Blanche Akonchong is a writer, director, musician and actress from Atlanta, GA. She is a first generation American of Cameroonian descent. She is a thesis student at NYU Tisch School of the Arts Graduate Film Program. Having a lifelong passion for entertainment, Blanche has worked at companies such as Spotify, Atlantic Records, and Showtime. She is most passionate about making films that chronicle the Black and LGBTQ experience through a comedic lens.
