Distant Spirit (the song) is a blending of dreams, memories of my father, and the connection to my inner most self, or maybe my lack of connection. The animation came a couple years later, and was my first attempt in that medium which has always been the art form that inspires me most. The animated sequences became a series of symbols that connected with and expanded upon the lyrics.

Director's Bio:

Ben Sloan is an independent composer, engineer, musician, and occasional animator. To date, Ben has worked with global brands including The North Face, PBS, and Boars Head, and composed original scores for television, award winning documentaries, and short films. He is an actively touring musician and artist, having recorded and performed with Moses Sumney, The National, and Beth Orton. He doesn't love writing bio's and appreciates you reading this.
