In the bustling neighborhood of Jardines del Pedregal, Tomando las Riendas explores the lives of two generations of Mexican Charras. The film focuses on the connection between Rosa María Morales Rizo—an Escaramuza Champion—and her granddaughter, Ana Victoria—a young Charra in training. As the story unfolds, it highlights the powerful bond that Escaramuza has fostered between them. The film reveals that while their familial tie remains unbreakable, their shared journey through Escaramuza will inevitably evolve as Ana Victoria continues to grow into a more experienced Charra.
