A meditation on the nature of love and perception in an age of changing social mores and cultural turbulence, "War, Silence & Love" is a thematic short film trilogy comprised of three short films--“War, One Afternoon,” “Silence, Before Rain,” and “Love, By Nature,” which take place in 1967, 1969, and 1971, respectively. Shot entirely on Super 8 film and featuring an original score, this series of conceptually-interlocking, cinematic chapters form a modern, naturalistic exploration of visual storytelling.
Silence, Before Rain: A young couple picnics on a California beach when an unexpected encounter with an alluring beauty and a mysterious stranger challenges their perception of race and the nature of love. 'Silence, Before Rain' draws comparisons between late sixties racial stereotyping and our current perception of the same issue, all under the guise of a fairytale summer romance.
