This is the festival’s annual competition programme for animated student films from the Nordic and Baltic region. 13 student works have been selected to be screened in the programme and are in the competition for the Golden Gunnar for best Nordic Baltic student film. The films are also eligible to win the Grand Prix and the Audience Award.

The programme consists of 13 short films from Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Norway, Sweden and Germany. Films that have been accepted into Fredrikstad Animation Festival’s short film competition are eligible to be nominated for the European Animation Awards.

A boy, living a fast-paced free roaming life with his friends on the streets of Dublin, doesn’t always have good choices to make.

Cora Mckenna is a director, editor, character animator and artist from Kilkenny, Ireland. She recently graduated from The Animation Workshop, with her main focuses during her education being on directing, animating, story development, and creature animation. Despite having made and directed several films, Shergar will be her first official release.
