Juror's comments: This short film is great. It explores a series of events that are pretty common within our academic society. However, from the promo and description, it's not that visibly or verbally appealing. This story is kind of a hidden gem; it doesn't seem that pretty on the outside, but when you actually look at it, it has an amazing story and characters

.

I love the story, as a fellow 8th grader, I can relate a lot to this plot. This film addresses this problem very well and is extremely accurate. The cinematography is pretty basic, but it captures the story well and delivers everything you would want in a short film. I love the set because it looks completely real and captures day-to-day life. One of the actors that really stands out is Alex Chavez who plays the main character and delivers his message in very few words. Also, I have to give props to the Director, Dan Perlman who delivers this story very well.

The message of this film is that friendships can be tested; some will survive and some will not. There is a scene where these kids have to take a test and everyone’s reaction is different. As a fellow 8th grader, I thought it was extremely accurate and downright funny. This film delivers a message that is really important to kids of middle school age because, at this time in their life, social interactions play a huge role and this film provides an amazing message kids need to know.

I give this film 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 12 to 14. It is beautifully produced, well acted and, most importantly, deals with a very real situation that is typical of what kids experience today, Reviewed by Jude A., KIDS FIRST! Film Critic and Julie S., KIDS FIRST! Adult reviewer.
