Two young friends experience tragedy when their lemonade stand is destroyed by a storm.

Juror comments: I like the short film Lemonade because it promotes kindness. The little kids are very cute and their acting is well done. The direction is also excellent.

The storyline is about a young girl who runs a small lemonade stand in front of her house. The neighbors happily support her stand. One day a young boy falls off his skateboard in front of her stand. The girl quickly helps the boy and they become best friends. Then a terrible storm destroys her stand. Without hesitation the little boy builds a new stand for the girl so she can continue selling her lemonade.

I really enjoyed the little young girl and boy actors and how they help each other. They both return the favor of kindness. The camerawork is well done. The background music is one of the weaknesses of the film as I feel it lacks substance. This film is non-narrative and hence, the music is there to help drive the action and, as such it is weak.

The continuity has a bit of a miss because the Halloween blowups are inflated and deflated in the same scene. My favorite part has to be the young actors; they are both so adorable and charming that they truly make the film.

The message of this film is to be kind to one another. They two children return the favor of kindness when they help each other. My favorite part of the film is when the little boy makes a new lemonade stand for the girl. He creates a sturdier stand and, when he presents the new stand to her, she is so happy and grateful.

I give Lemonade 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 4 to 8, plus adults. Reviewed by Avery P. and Julie S., KIDS FIRST! Film Critic and Juror
