About Lisa Ling

Lisa Ling is currently a special contributor to CBS News. For nine seasons prior, she executive produced and hosted THIS IS LIFE on CNN and executive produced and hosted TAKE OUT, an exploration of Asian American history through the lens of delicious Asian food. She got her start in journalism as a correspondent for Channel One News where she covered the civil war in Afghanistan at 21 years of age. She later went on to become a co-host of ABC Daytime's hit show The View, which won its first daytime Emmy during her time at the show. Lisa is the co-author of “Mother, Sister. Daughter, Bride: Rituals of Womanhood,” and “Somewhere Inside: One Sister’s Captivity in North Korea and The Other’s Fight to Bring Her Home” that she penned with her sister Laura.

Sarah Friar, former CEO of Nextdoor, led the company to nearly triple its reach to over 92M Neighbors in 335,000 neighborhoods worldwide. Previously, as CFO at Square, she oversaw its IPO and $30 billion market cap increase. Her prior experience spans Goldman Sachs, McKinsey, and Salesforce. Currently a Board Member of Walmart and Consensys, she's also known for her Board contributions to Slack and New Relic. A Fellow of the Aspen Institute, and on the Advisory Boards of Operation HOPE, the Blavatnik School of Government at Oxford and Co-Chair of the Stanford Digital Economy Lab. Sarah is committed to mentorship, founding Raised in Northern Ireland, she holds degrees from Oxford and Stanford, earning an OBE from Queen Elizabeth II for entrepreneurship.

About Lehua Kamalu

Lehua Kamalu is a voyager, captain, and navigator of traditional Hawaiian voyaging canoes. Her work is based in Honolulu, Hawaii where she was raised on the Koʻolau side of the island. She has completed over 15 voyages with the Polynesian Voyaging Society. In April 2022, she lead the first voyage, both captained and navigated by a woman, from Hawaiʻi to Tahiti, traveling 2,300-nautical miles to Tahiti in just 17 days. Lehua is a National Geographic Explorer, Emerson Collective Dial Fellow, TED Fellow, and holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa
