Some Syrian women refugees in Istanbul are trying to find their feet in a new life to heal the wounds of war, displacement, and isolation -- one salad at a time.
Didem Tali is a multi-award-winning journalist and a novice documentary filmmaker with a special interest in solution-based narratives. Born and raised in Turkey, her collaborations have included the New York Times, National Geographic, The Guardian, Financial Times, CNN, NPR, BBC, and many more. Didem's stories about human rights issues in her native Turkey and beyond have won many international recognitions, including awards from the United Nations and the British Council. Tali is currently focusing on longer-term storytelling projects, having recently started directing and producing her own documentaries.
