Héctor Jaime (they/she/he) is a choreographer, dance artist, teacher, and shaman of movement, born in Mexicali, Baja California, México. They channel a deep reverence for Mexican history, pictography, sculpture, folklore, music, and poetry. Transforming these reflections into movement compositions. Rooted in ancestral ritual and driven by a belief in art’s capacity to heal, Héctor’s work weaves México’s divine supernatural worldview into a contemporary dance vocabulary. Having embraced México’s supernatural perspective has shaped their approach to dance. Their creations invite audiences to journey through exploring themes of identity, transformation, the infinite, myth and metaphor. Committed to community and collaboration, she continually expands her network across the Bay Area dance scene, creating spaces where Latinx and Queer voices flourish.
