TikTok has been a very welcoming environment for animators, so much so that before they even begin posting, many of today’s top creators had no previous experience. And, it’s not just live-action, app-ready animation that’s being posted. From stop-motion, pixillation, claymation, 2D and CGI, almost every medium of animation can be found on this popular platform.
This special two-part session features 10 of TikTok’s biggest animators, including Rabbert and Abnormal Chaos discussing their style and how they create their animation. You’ll learn about the TikTok community that embraces and helps other animators, and the subsequent jobs that they are getting as a result of their hard work.

Born in Fort Collins, Colorado to a videographer and a graphic designer, Ben Treat has taken up storytelling as second nature. Always expressing his creativity through the physical, stop-motion was a natural place to grow into and share his ideas. In 2016, a move to New Zealand gave Ben a fresh perspective. The change of environment led him to invest new energies into developing his abilities in stop-motion animation and creating a place for people to find inspiration.

His background in illustration and perpetual experimentation has led Robbie to develop a unique animation style of his own. He has chosen to follow in the footsteps of his late grandfather and renowned illustrator, Arthur Shilstone, and pursue a life full of creativity.
