Roots &amp; Wings: Yana Gilbuena, the first in the series, features nomadic chef Yana Gilbuena discussing growing up in Iloilo, Philippines, how she got her start as a chef in the pop-up space and left her day job to spread the Filipino food gospel to all 50 states in the US, and the future of Filipino cuisine. Kuang Lee, Director, @Pamela Gibson MacDougall, Producer of “Rooted”ROOTED is a short documentary about Asian-American farmers in California fighting to reclaim their agricultural heritage through their cultural roots and communities. It features Scott Chang-Fleeman who is a farmer and owner of Shao Shan Farm, which is a 5 1/2 acre certified-organic farm in west Marin County. His farm focuses on Chinese and other Asian heritage vegetables. Chang-Fleeman says in the film, "This project is really a project in identity. Set Hernandez Rongkilyo is an undocumented immigrant filmmaker and community organizer from the Philippines who's film, Cover/Age, follows the campaign to expand healthcare access for undocumented elderly immigrants in California by centering the voices of immigrant health justice leaders. @SailaKariat, Ph.D. is a former electrical engineer who changed careers after obtaining a degree in film. She incorporated her experience in the entrepreneurial world to write "The Valley", a story of an immigrant entrepreneur in high tech is devastated by his daughter’s suicide and seeks answers to lingering questions. (Moderator). Edie Yau is the Director of Diversity and Inclusion for the Alzheimer's Association, Northern California and Northern Nevada Chapter. She also serves on the California Task Force on Family Caregiving and has been in the field of aging for over 20 years. (Panelist) @WesMukoyama is a retired Licensed Clinical Social Worker who brings decades of experience working with health care issues. He was the Executive Director at Yu-Ai Kai Community Senior Service, worked at the VA Medical Center Clinic and presently volunteers as a Buddhist chaplain at the Santa Clara County jail and as a Disaster Mental Health worker for the Red Cross. FILMMAKERS.Leena Pendharkar (@leenapend)- Leena is an award-winning writer and director, presents her latest film, “Awaken” - that examines the complexities of care options for a relative with Alzheimer’s Disease. Her earlier film, “20 Weeks” premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival and was selected as one of the best 2017 indie films by Film Threat. Eris Qian was born and raised in China and having lived and studied on five continents, Eris brings a unique, personal perspective to stories about the Asian diaspora. Her highly rated earlier documentary work led to her debut short film, “Mother Tongue.” It explores the dynamics of language as it often shifts and diminishes as Alzheimer’s overtakes a loved one. @TomHuang is an award-winning filmmaker, director and writer. His film, Dealing with Dad, is about families that somehow still find love despite their differences. It's those families you dread to hang out during the holidays, the ones you know will have drama at family gatherings...the not so perfect you never see on TV.

As demographics shift towards a non-white majority, elections will be decided by Americans, some inspired to vote for the first time. (Moderator) The Honorable @MargaretAbe-Koga is the Mayor of Mountain View, making this the second time she has served in this position. Having previously been elected to two terms from 2007- 2015, she is the longest serving member of the Mt. View City Council. Prior to her successful elections to the council, she was on the city’s Human Relations Commission and on the Environmental Planning Committee. During her term on the Santa Clara County Board of Education, she was board vice president in 2004.
