(Moderator) The Honorable @MargaretAbe-Koga is the Mayor of Mountain View, making this the second time she has served in this position. Having previously been elected to two terms from 2007- 2015, she is the longest serving member of the Mt. View City Council. Prior to her successful elections to the council, she was on the city’s Human Relations Commission and on the Environmental Planning Committee. During her term on the Santa Clara County Board of Education, she was board vice president in 2004.


(Producer/Director @AndSheCouldBeNext) Grace Lee is an independent producer & director and writer working in both narrative and non-fiction film. She is a producer/director on a five-part landmark PBS series THE ASIAN AMERICANS as well as the PBS documentary series POV AND SHE COULD BE NEXT, about women of color transforming politics and civic engagement.

She directed the Peabody Award-winning documentary "AMERICAN REVOLUTIONARY: THE EVOLUTION OF GRACE LEE BOGGS", which The Hollywood Reporter called ”an entertainingly revealing portrait of the power of a single individual to effect change.”


(Producer/Director @AndSheCouldBeNext) @MarjanSafinia is an Iranian documentary filmmaker whose films examine identity, community and social justice. BUT YOU SPEAK SUCH GOOD ENGLISH explores the first-generation immigrant experience from an insider perspective. SEEDS, tells the story of ten brave teenagers from the world’s most troubled conflict zones living side-by-side for one life-changing summer. Collectively her films have played at over 100 international film festivals and been broadcast in North America, Europe and across the Arab world


(Panelist) Protima Pandey, Director, Office of Women's Policy, Santa Clara County, oversees a county office that brings a gender lens to policy decision making, builds a pipeline to leadership and creates equity in governance. Her professional roles, present and past, including registering eligible female inmates at County Jail, conducting train the trainer workshop for Voters Choice Act, and litigation on public interest cases as regional counsel, give her an insight into advocating for protecting, preserving, and promoting civic rights including the right to vote.
