Film shorts that were screened in our in-person event on October 2, 2021. All of these shorts are from local filmmakers.

A young man encounters a large bowl of spicy ramen inside a restaurant and decides to consume it. Shortly after, his bowel movements force him to face his internal enemy: the digesting ramen. He grapples with the fight to expel the enemy from his body, but the digesting food will not give up without a fight. After struggling for some time, the victorious young man successfully excretes his waste and feels at bliss. As he washes up outside, another person runs in and the cycle repeats.



Director Biography - Oscar Li



Oscar Li is an animator and first year medical student at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He spent his undergraduate career studying Biological Sciences with a minor in 3D Animation in the Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California, graduating this past May 2021. Oscar is passionate about storytelling and the intersection between animation and medicine. He aims to continue creating animated films as a medium for not only scientific literacy and research, but also to humanize the often esoteric medical field while sharing stories.
