A daughter of divorced parents reflects on the contentious relationship her parents share, on the occasion of her 21st birthday.
Director Biography - Ishq Pradhan
Ishq Pradhan is currently studying at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she is pursuing a BFA in Film and TV Production. Ishq is a trained Indian classical dancer, a form of storytelling in which the dancer must individually portray the many characters. Through this, she developed a fascination for visual storytelling, or in other words, filmmaking.
She has made several short films, including “Dear Fay” and “East and West." Dear Fay," was selected in the All American High School Film Festival (2018), where it was screened at the AMC Theatre in Times Square, the Moonwhite Films International Film Festival in Mumbai, India (2018), where Isha won the award for Best Director. "Dear Fay" was also selected at the Pune Shorts International Film Festival, the Mumbai Shorts International Film Festival, and the Smita Patil Documentary and Short Film Festival (2018). “East and West” has been screened at multiple festivals in India, including The Global Indian Film Festival, at which Ishq won Best Student Film, as well as the DadaSaheb Phalke Film Festival. She is currently working on her debut feature, “Mohnika,” an introspection into the Indian-American identity. The script was recently awarded “Best Dramatic Screenplay” at the Canadian Diversity Film Festival, and selected as a SemiFinalist at Screencraft.
She aspires to create films that are sensitive and inspire audiences, through socially relevant topics. Ishq is extremely passionate about diversifying South Asian representation through film. She is also interning under Vikramaditya Motwane at his production company, Andolan Films.
