Under the CreaTV San Jose DocuMentorMe Program, "Light the Way" is a timely documentary about the Autumn Moon Festival holiday in the Bay Area. It is widely celebrated in Vietnam and also within the Vietnamese community in the Bay Area. This documentary illuminates our focus on the children's holiday in bringing good luck and fortune in our local neighborhoods while identifying how Vietnamese Americans and Vietnamese people in the Bay Area continue to connect with their cultural roots.
Director and Producer- Anh Le
Ever since Anh was a little girl, she always had a passion for penpalling. She writes letters to friends and family, learning about their experiences and culture from all over the world. Through filmmaking, Anh is passionate about telling stories that heal the wounds of society. The stories she has told and continues to write focuses on Vietnamese culture and literature in hopes of inviting friends in seeing the beauty of the Vietnamese language and people. When Anh is not working in film, one can find her assembling jigsaw puzzles or making reels of local Bay Area food and travel destinations.
