"Secrets of a Super Ager." Facing the Future: Live, Love, Laugh. Have Faith. Be Joyful. Fran takes the time to have fun with family and friends. She is always learning...something new. She keeps moving with Tai Chi, hiking, and daily walks. She spends much time in her eatable garden. She eats healthy: no processed foods. She gives back to the community by volunteering.

Fran is Rooted: most and foremost she knows where her blessings come from... because she is connected to the Almighty.


Director Biography - Frances Ito

Fran Ito is 91 year young Chinese American born in Oahu, Hawaii during the time when the Islands were still a Territory of Hawaii. She is a Pearl Harbor Survivor and during WWII she lived under US Marshall Law, Issued an ID with finger printed, inoculated with vaccines, and given a gas mask. She came to Los Angeles in 195l. A graduate from McKinley High School; she studied Business and Fine Arts in College.

Fran married a Nisei Japanese American, he was detained in Santa Anita Race Track and later interned in Heart Mountain, Wyoming concentration camp during WWII. He served in the Army Military Intelligent Service (MIS) and was stationed in the rehabilitation of Occupied Japan.

Fran loves to travel, camp, hike, garden, play the ukulele with friends, have a creative interest, and is an avid reader especially autobiographies.

A real privilege to submit my 13th short film, “A Purpose Driven Life” as part of the Visual Communications Digital Histories Program to be part of the LAAPFF 2023.
