Things get complicated for Symcha, when he learns that his grandson and his non-Jewish girlfriend are expecting a son. This incredibly well-acted show dives head first into questions like "will the child be raised Jewish?" and "what will happen to Symcha’s deli?" and it does so in spectacular fashion. Modern day Germany makes a perfect setting for this story of religion, cultural identity and intergenerational conflict, and The Zweiflers wraps it all up with just the right amount of heart and humour.

It's five to twelve - or after that? Symcha has little time to evade arrest as a murder suspect. Samuel, meanwhile, believes that his love for Saba is lost. The circumcision of his son - and thus acceptance into the Jewish community - seems unattainable. However, when she leaves, Saba has an experience that makes her rethink things. After the investor deal fails, Dana is determined to lead the family business into the future.
