An incredible compilation of six Iranian documentaries and narratives. Both thought-provoking and brave, several of the topics covered are taboo in their country, but these directors and filmmakers take a chance to explore and expose, inform and celebrate. We had several incredible Iranian films submitted this year - it was hard to select just a few for our Spotlight.

Director's Statement:

War makes beauties ugly.

War makes life bitter and hard. War transforms the mind-body into the body-animal.

It unites the human and animal bodies.

The war never ends and its effects don't disappear with water and these effects will always be with you and the suffering of the effects of war ends only with death, although life goes on.
