A circle, a palindrome, and a giant cake walk into a cinema—these conceptual explorations bounce between linear narratives and abstract observations. At times delightfully oddball, at others self-reflexive, these video poems skew perspective by infusing formal structures with experimental play—collectively addressing the dualities of this bizarre and beautiful life.
Winner of the Adaptation/Ekphrasis Award at Cadence 2022! 🏆 A surreal animation based on Joseph Brodsky's poem Don't Leave the Room, with a fallacy of choice as its central theme. As he navigates between what seem to be many rooms, a character comes to realize the sameness of all of his choices, creating doubt over whether they are in fact "free" or significant.
