Director Biography - Pedro H. M. Marques, Paul Bessa

Pedro H. M. Marques is a filmmaker, partner and director at the production company Ritmo Visual where he directs audiovisual advertising productions, video clips, short films and also documentaries. He started in the audiovisual market in mid-2009, creating and directing independent short films. Self-taught, the director has more than 70 awards in the 4 corners of the world, awards in creative festivals, films and video clips, with emphasis on 3 Cannes lions. The Director has already directed films for BMW, Budweiser, Johnnie Walker, Renault, Mentos, Asics, among others. He has already worked with names like Gilberto Gil, Caetano Velozo, Emicida, among others. Pedro is currently working on his feature film Floresta em Cena, shot for over 8 years in the Amazon rainforest and has international experience in several productions. Pedro was the creator of the first 100% sensory film in the world. His curriculum includes the production and direction of 8 short films, more than 10 video clips, 3 web series, 1 feature in production and more than a hundred advertisements.

Paul Bessa is a DOP and director. His work includes video clips, advertising films, shorts and feature films. He often operates in countries such as Spain, Portugal and Brazil.

Pedro Marques| "Dulce" foi um projeto fluído que partiu de muita força de vontade de fazer algo relevante, belo e sensível. Paul e eu conversamos e decidimos que iríamos fazer o filme, criamos e dois dias depois estávamos filmando! Foi uma loucura, mas tínhamos um tema na mão, uma dupla de dançarinos incríveis e uma equipe reduzida, mas de excelentes profissionais que foram extremamente competentes, assim não tinha como dar errado. Fiquei muito satisfeito com o resultado do filme.

Paul Bessa | "Dulce" foi um projeto muito especial em se fazer. Comentei com o Pedro que tinha uma locação interessante e que podíamos filmar algo potente. Então fomos visitar a casa onde se passa o filme e ali fomos desenvolvendo o roteiro a partir do que a locação nos proporcionava. Depois de uma segunda visita com Ammanda e Nielson ,os bailarinos, conseguimos amarrar melhor a história com as ideias trazidas por eles. Esse é um filme experimental fruto de uma colaboração de toda equipe. Acho que chegamos em algo bastante interessante."
