“As immigrant artists we come into this city in the pursuit of what we’ve craved for all our lives: drive, freedom and opportunities. Yet, when we see that things are falling into place, we face a reality check that is no different than from any other immigrant: a status. When we think about our future, an overwhelming feeling comes inside our heads asking “What’s next?”Marriage? Talent? Alien? As we analyze the options and balance the future, we say to ourselves “I just want to create and share with this city what I’m ready to offer” yet we must withhold ourselves, because these frontiers (both legal and mental) start crippling and restraining. The purpose of this video is to show all immigrant artists and dancers that we’re not alone. That even if they’re some bumps on the way, we together can uplift and come through to follow our dreams. It is a call to keep on pushing, even if we’re on the verge of giving up.
