This past October we lost a formidable voice in Cuban and documentary cinema- Diana Montero (1986-2020). Passing away at the age of 34, she left behind an award-winning filmography that focuses on daily life in the Cuban countryside, a vibrant window into the stories of the people who live there.

In memory of the master storyteller, HFFNY is streaming all of Montero's documentary shorts.

Facing her husband´s authority, Leoneidi, a 12-year-old girl living in Sierra Maestra, Cuba, struggles to combine play with motherhood and her obligations as a wife.
