This past October we lost a formidable voice in Cuban and documentary cinema- Diana Montero (1986-2020). Passing away at the age of 34, she left behind an award-winning filmography that focuses on daily life in the Cuban countryside, a vibrant window into the stories of the people who live there.

In memory of the master storyteller, HFFNY is streaming all of Montero's documentary shorts.

A moment of reflection in Carlos’ life, an 86 year old man who for the past decade has dedicated himself to collecting garbage and recyclables. His days float between the trash tanks from Old Havana, the company that buys the recyclables and the interior of his house, full of waste and desires.
