This past October we lost a formidable voice in Cuban and documentary cinema- Diana Montero (1986-2020). Passing away at the age of 34, she left behind an award-winning filmography that focuses on daily life in the Cuban countryside, a vibrant window into the stories of the people who live there.

In memory of the master storyteller, HFFNY is streaming all of Montero's documentary shorts.

For almost 20 years, Dalkys chairs a cult where Saint Lazarus possesses her. She takes care of sick people coming to her from all over Cuba. But despite her ability to heal she can't relieve Evelio, her husband, who suffers advanced diabetes. Because of the aggravation of Evelio's disease and his lack of faith, Dalkys starts doubting about her own gift.
